Single Digit Rank in GATE 2019

Single digit rank simply mean you have to be in top 0.001% of candidates. Only hardwork cant help you to get it. You have to use a lot of unconventional methods to excel in gate so that you can be on top 10. These are just the additional tips to be in the narrow margin of top 10. Rest preparation strategy is same.
  • Gate exam is full of uncertainty. Its of only 3 hrs duration single exam (unlike ese, cgl or state engg services) and hence you dont have any chance of making silly mistakes. If you make a single mistake, rank will be dropped by 10–20.
  • To rectify your mistakes, Use coachings test series - Gateforum. test series have very less error and so you can follow all blindly. Practice rigorously. I always forget concept untill I make mistake in a test and then I never forget that concept.
  • Test series also teaches you time management. Never get stuck at one question but also you can’t afford to leave any question If you want to be in top 10 and so you have to complete all the left out questions in the second go.
  • Lots of aspirants loose marks for silly mistakes also e. g. forgetting sign insertion in NAT, unit conversion, converting percentage to decimal, not using proper brackets in long calculation while using scientific calculator etc. You cant afford it.
  • You can’t leave any topic or any subject as if the question comes in the exam, you can’t leave it. 2 marks is a lot more when you have such high ambitions.
  • Never mess up with the symbols used in formula. See each and every symbol’s meaning clearly. Dont just mug up anything.
  • Use tricks to shorten your syllabus and to learn formulae. You have to revise a lot to be there. And yeah a lot means A lot!!
  • Be calm in those 3 hours. Its the most difficult thing to do. You must have high worryless speed which can only be acquired by rigorous practice.
  • You cant neglect luck factor. It also plays important role sometimes. So just be ready to face any type of result.
If you are among the toppers, Its obvious that you have really worked hard to be there and yes you deserve it.
But if you aint able to be in top 50 or top 100, It doesn't mean that you have failed and deserve that rank. Sometime it happens, just believe in yourself and try again next time. You are as capable as anybody else.
Hope it helps!!
