What is your Review of Gateforum Kanpur Coaching (Company)?

Did B.Tech from NIT Allahabad in 2013.Got Placed in Oracle, Mumbai where I worked for 2.5 years. Then I Quit!

Reason  - Wanted to Reconnect with Electrical Engineering, something which I had Cherished for 4 years of Engineering and was longing to go back to.

Problem  - 2.5 years in IT sector and Mumbai had made me out of touch with Electrical Subjects. Now I was searching for a Guide/Mentor and a good Coaching Institute that can bring me at par with the Competition. Among a lot of options, I was quite Aware of the Reputation of Gateforum Kanpur as a lot of my Batch mates, juniors and seniors had Cleared GATE and/or ESE from the Institute and thus I zeroed in to it.

Solution  – Gave the Scholarship Test which Gateforum Kanpur Conducts every year for Admission into its Classroom Program, got a decent Scholarship and I Enrolled into the Course.

Review - I Joined the Regular Classroom Program which is GATE and PSU combined. Here you have to be Smart in Filtering out Material for GATE. But, this is not much of a Problem once you attend Classes regularly and Solve Previous years Question Papers of both.
You have to be Judicious and Hardworking enough to pay Attention in the class and make your Handwritten Notes at the same time. Trust me, when you are 2-3 days away from writing the Actual Exam that you are Targeting be it GATE or any Other, no one can help you apart from your Own Handwritten Notes.
Everybody has a Different Approach or Strategy when it comes to Preparation. What I did was that I Devoted almost Half of my time to solving Previous Years Papers, working on my Weak Areas especially in numerical, avoiding the Pitfalls, solving Workbooks provided by Gateforum Kanpur Diligently, Regularly assessed my Performance in classroom Tests and took the Test Discussion classes very seriously. I always believe that Success is as much about Execution as it is about Preparation.

Gateforum Kanpur has Preplanned class Schedule and there is no Cancellation of class and the Schedule is a bit hectic where in you won’t get much time to Relax.

I Joined June batch and Classes went on continuously for almost 3/4/6 hours a day with very few days off like 

Raksha Bandhan or Diwali.

But then this Schedule helps in Timely Completion of Syllabus and gives one ample time for Revision. The Faculty is really Amazing at the Institute with a mix of both Experienced Faculty and Top Rankers of GATE and ESE, and they Teach Really well, but it Depends a lot on how much you want to learn from them. Also, Content wise, the Study Material is as per GATE standards.
One thing which really stood out with Gateforum Kanpur   is its Test Series. Now every Coaching has Test Series but the level of Accuracy of tests and their Relevance to the Exam is better of Gateforum Kanpur as compared to other Institutes. During my time, thousands of students were Enrolled in GATE Test Series and close to one Lakh something (I have heard) in GATE Test Series and thus these tests are a kind of replica of your Performance in the actual Exam. The Video Solutions of these tests helped me a lot in Retaining key Concepts and it reinforced my understanding and Learning. My Performance in these Tests gave me a clear Picture of where I stood and what to do and what not to do on the Day.
Eventually I scored 380 Rank in my GATE Exam which though not Great are more than Decent Rank. But overall my Experience of Gateforum Kanpur was quite Good. There are a few negatives here and there but then in hindsight I Guess it’s ok.
