Coal India Management Trainee Recruitment

Coal India Limited (CIL), a Maharatna company is an Indian state-controlled coal mining company headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, India and the largest coal-producing company in the world Coal India Limited (CIL) produces coal through seven of its wholly owned subsidiaries. These are Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), South-Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Northern Coalfield Limited (NCL), and Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL).
Its 8th wholly owned subsidiary Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDIL) provides exploration, planning and technical support to all the 7 production subsidiaries. CMPDIL also provides consulting services to third-party market clients in the field of exploration, mining, allied engineering & testing, management-systems, training, etc.

Coal India Limited is a Maharatna public sector undertaking under ministry of Coal, govt. of India. It is the single largest coal producing company in the world and one of the largest corporate employers in the country. It operates 413 mines in 82 mining areas across the country. CIL also has a wholly owned subsidiary in Mozambique, Coal India Africana Limited (CIAL) for pursuing coal mining opportunities in that country.
Coal India Limited invites applications for recruiting the GATE qualified candidates for the post of Management Trainees. The GATE applicants are eligible to apply for Coal India Limited Recruitment. The recruitment is of various branches of engineering like Mining, Electrical, mechanical, civil, chemical/mineral, electronics and telecommunication Industrial, environment, IT.


A.     Eligibility criteria

1. Only Indian Nationals are allowed to apply.

2. Age limit:

The upper age limit for the Coal India Management Trainee is 30 years for general (UR) category candidates. However some relaxations are also provided like:

Upper age relaxation for SC/ST/ candidates is 5 years.
Upper age relaxation for the OBC candidates (no creamy layer) is 3 years while for the creamy layer there is no age relaxation for the OBC creamy layer.
Upper age relaxation for the PWD-UR is 10 years, PWD-OBC (non-creamy layer) is 13 years and for PWD-SC/ST candidates the relaxation is 15 years. while for the creamy layer there is no age relaxation for the OBC creamy layer.
For candidates working in Coal India or any of its subsidiary company there is no age limit and no application fee.
Upper age relaxations by 5 years for candidates belonging to Jammu & Kashmir who had ordinarily been domiciled in that state between 01.01.1980 and 31.12.1989

3. Eligible branches

With respect to the various disciplines from which the candidates are eligible for the Coal India Management Trainee, these are some of the relevant branches. Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Mechanical, Civil, Industrial Engineering.

4. Educational Qualifications:

One can apply to these given posts if they fulfill the eligibility criteria and the Educational Qualification mentioned by the Coal India Management trainee recruitment notification. The Qualifications are different for various posts depending on the branch one has applied from. C. Coal India Management Trainee examination syllabus :

The Syllabus for Paper 1 of Coal India Management Trainee recruitment which is based on candidates knowledge of general awareness, reasoning, English, General Ability.
The Syllabus for Paper 2 of Coal India Management Trainee recruitment which is based on candidates Professional Knowledge of their discipline.
 §  Interview
All the candidates who qualify the computer based test- both the papers separately and rank high on merit as decided by the Coal India will be called for the Interview.
Candidates (for all categories of posts) called for Interview shall be paid to & fro sleeper class Railway fare for journey by the shortest route between Railway Station nearest to hometown & the Interview location.

D. Coal India Limited cut-off

Depending on the exam pattern, difficulty of the exam, number of candidates applied and the vacancies available the Coal India cut off marks for the recruitment of Management Trainee post varies.

Pay & Emoluments:

The salary offered to the Coal India Limited Management Trainee in E2 grade in pay scale of Rs. 20,600 – 46,500.
The initial Basic of Rs. 20,600/- is given during the first year of Training Period.
Subsequent to the training completion the management Trainees are regularized in E3 grade in the scale of pay of Rs. 24,900 – 50,500 at the initial Basic of Rs. 24,900/- with probation for 1 year.
Besides basic pay the Management Trainees are provided with various other perks and allowances as per company rule like medical, transport, rental and many more.
The candidates can be posted anywhere in the subsidiary companies especially in coalfield areas.
The selected candidates are required to serve for a minimum of 60 months.
